Summary: “All she wants is a home, but can she find one…UNDER DIFFERENT STARS

Kricket Hollowell is normally not one to wish upon stars; she believes they’re rarely in her favor. Well versed at dodging caseworkers from Chicago’s foster care system, the past few years on her own have made Kricket an expert at the art of survival and blending in. With her 18th birthday fast approaching, she dreams of the day when she can stop running and find what her heart needs most: a home.

Trey Allairis hates Earth and doubts that anyone from his world can thrive here. What he’s learning of Kricket and her existence away from her true home only confirms his theory. But, when he and Kricket lie together under the stars of Ethar, counting them all may be easier than letting her go.

Kyon Ensin’s secrets number the stars; he knows more about Kricket’s gifts than anyone and plans to possess her because of them. He also knows she’s more valuable than any fire in the night sky. He’ll move the heavens and align them all in order to make her his own.

When everything in their world can be broken, will Kricket rely upon love to save her under different stars?”

Review:

First of all, I think it is my duty to comment of how amazingly beautiful the cover is. Once the cover was revealed, I couldn’t help but fall in love with it. I had already planned to read this book when Amy said that she was publishing another book, since I love The Premonition series (I can’t wait for The Iniquity, the teasers are killing me!).

I liked this book, specially the story, I’ve always been interested on Aliens (specially ever since I read the Lux series by the one and only Jennifer L. Armentrout), the male lead is just to die for, as expected! One thing I really did not like was Kricket, the main character, she is just perfect looking, super intelligent, innocent, cute and everybody wants her. It annoys me because the main character on The Premonition series also happens to be perfect. Hello, people are not perfect! And where’s originality? One of the best things about new books being published by your favorite authors is a total different story! Where’s the originality and imagination? Flew out of the window?

Anyway, Kricket is an orphan who is running away from Chicago’s foster care system, she was constantly being bullied, harassed and beaten while living in foster homes (by jealous girls – LOL *sarcasm*). Kricket suddenly finds herself being stalked by two different groups of super gorgeous men, who claim they are returning her to her homeland so she can be judged for her crimes, although she has no idea which crimes and what home. Trey Allairis, one of the men from one of the groups, is the first one to get her. Him and his group start the dangerous trip to Ethar, a different world, where Kricket originally comes from. During this trip you can see the starting love between Trey and Kricket, which I can only describe as cute xD

After they get to Ethar, Kricket is confronted with the truth of her species and also her duty. I don’t want to spoil for the sake of wanting you to find out everything like this, it’s way more interesting to find out things while reading. I won’t also spoil you because I think I wouldn’t be able to explain you everything correctly, I think I would just mix facts T.T

Despite not having liked the main character, this was a book that did not disappoint me, I want to read the next one (the second one has not been announced).
